Under construction

Welcome to the Rensselaer Crew website! We’re unfortunately currently under construction and things may not work the way they’re supposed to work. I apologize for that.

However, here’s a little bit of information about the team:

The Rensselaer Crew team is a Rensselaer Union-funded club team of approximately 40 athletes (spring 2012). Our membership typically ranges from 40 members to 70 members. Unlike the varsity teams on campus, we are a student-run organization with a group of 6 students acting as the Executive Board for the team (President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Membership Officers, and Equipment Officer). This means that students that are interested in getting involved with running the team will have ample opportunity to do so as early as your novice year!

Our varsity squad (not to be confused with the official designation as a NCAA varsity team on campus…) practices every weekday morning at 5:15am and some Saturdays as well. Our novice squad, on the other hand, practices in the evenings at 5pm. Our boathouse is located down the hill and across the river in Hudson Shores Park in Watervliet, NY.

There is no experience necessary to join the team! The majority of current team members had no rowing experience when they joined and learned to row at RPI. If you’re interested in joining, stop by our table at the Students Activities Fair in the fall! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email join-crew@union.rpi.edu!

Fall 2010 Crew Banquet

The Fall 2010 crew banquet, which has replaced the crew formal, will be this Friday, November 5th.

Money is due to Sarah by November 1st (today).

Alumni Day 2010

Our Alumni Row/BBQ day is currently set for Sunday, September 5th!  Hope too see you all there!

More information will be posted here as it become available.  If you have any questions, please contact crew-membership [at] union [dot] rpi [dot] edu.
